I'm writing a string trio called "Desperation" right now. I wanted to start experimenting with different styles of music after Zack Sheet's music workshop during Opus 27. I started it slower and in 3/4, then picked up the pace by using a lot of syncopation, quick rhythms and drastic dynamic changes. I'm experimenting with "run-on sentences" too, like a lot of eighth notes in a small amount of space that make it more desperate-sounding.

Hereafter

Hereafter
This is a three movement piece written for a string quartet. In the beginning, it's to resemble the death of a loved one, and the sadness that it brings, and then it starts to resolve. In the second movement, the music is focused more on beauty and acceptance, with many accidentals. And then finally, the last movement is a sort of remembrance of their life, and simply living on through the memories of others. I haven't named the separate movements yet, but Hereafter is to demonstrate the life after death that is portrayed in this piece.

Intermediate - 1

***Unfinished***
This assignment was to choose an old Create and add accompaniment to it, but I am going to use this as my first project. Only listen up to measure 11. My piece is in D minor, and the key is definitely established through the D harmonic minor. I used the question and answer technique, and open and closed chords. I also used a bass line at one point. The accompaniment furthers the mood of this piece, which is creepy, eery, intense, and uncomfortable to an extent.
